This is not for charity
In mid June Julian Emre Sayarer will be departing from Rouen, France, to cycle 18,000 miles in six months. Julian is hoping to make a new world record for the feat of circumnavigation by bicycle. More details of the trip can be found at thisisnotforcharity.com
The main premise of the ride is an anti-corporate one. The current record was set in cahoots with Lloyds TSB, Artemis Investment Fund, and Orange and, as someone who hates big-business operating harmfully in society, only to spend millions on advertising that suggests otherwise, Julian has a deep commitment to taking back the record for more socially-principled organisations. Thus he is being backed by the Tax Justice Network, New Economic Foundation, London Cycling Campaign, and the Campaign for Real Ale (who do, in all seriousness, work really hard for the protection of local communities). The Manifesto, on Julians website, is the real crux of what this ride means to him and is well worth a read.
So as not to compromise his message, Julian has not approached any big companies for sponsorship, and is funding the trip from his own earnings and the help of small businesses that have provided products or expertise. We are pleased to be printing some T-shirts for Julian as our way of helping him with what we think is a great cause.

The author of www.idressmyself.co.uk has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: Corollary to #6275: Except when your a smartass yourself, in that case you will like yourself but dislike other smartasses more. Thanks for the info.
