Learn to Screen Print Workshops
Beginners Workshop
Our one day workshops teach you everything you need to know in order to prepare and print your own one-colour artwork onto 10 T-shirts or 25 sheets of art paper (and include the price of materials).
The course goes through the entire screen printing process from preparing your pre designed art work for screen, to creating the finished article and the course is as 'hands on' as possible.
In the morning you will learn how to select the right type of screen and have a chance to wash down and coat your own screen. You will learn to prepare your artwork for screen printing. We specialise in the use of water based inks for screen printing onto garments and paper and you will learn about the different types of inks and their uses. You will have a go at mixing your own colour for printing in the afternoon.
There will be an hour for lunch with the opportunity to see the historic market town of Frome. st learn how to expose the screen with their design. Students will then have a chance to print at least ten T-shirts or 25 art prints with your own design. For T-shirt printing you will learn how to dry your garments to achieve a full cure. Students will be given an advice sheet detailing screen printing reagents and the contact details for the suppliers that we use.

Intermediate Workshop
Students will re-cap on the screen printing process. This time you will practise colour separation and learn how to set up a multi-colour screen print. You will separate the colours on your own two-colour print and set up and print ten T-shirts or 25 art prints of your own design.
We aim to tailor the workshops as much as possible to peoples personal needs and ability levels. We encourage people to contact us beforehand to let us know what they would like to get out of the workshop so that we can help them achieve this. After the workshops we are happy for people to contact us with any screen printing related problems they may have.
Cost £150 for 3 hours (maximum 2 students)

Projects
Once you have completed both workshops it is possible to book some studio time to complete your own projects. This will cost £60 for 3-hour time slots on either the textile or paper printing equipment. We can prepare acetates (£5 per acetate) or screens in advance (normal charge for screen prep) and will be available for advice during the session, if required. Experienced screen printers can use the equipment following a one-hour induction for £30.
